Man’s body found in ditch near Snohomish

SNOHOMISH — A man’s body was found Thursday morning in a ditch along Marsh Road, off Highway 9 near Snohomish.

Detectives believe the man crashed his motorcycle into the ditch, said Rebecca Hover, a spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The crash didn’t appear to have happen

ed recently.

The motorcycle was spotted by passersby around 10 a.m. Thursday, Hover said. Officials arrived and found the body as well.

Detectives are aware of a missing motorcyclist from Lake Stevens, she said.

Edward Joseph Kirgan, 48, was last seen Aug. 7 leaving Bert’s Tavern in Bothell on his 1997 Honda VTX motorcycle, according to Lake Stevens police.

The body could be Kirgan’s, but that hasn’t been confirmed, Hover said. The case is now being handled by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
