‘Recovery Ride’ planned for hurt trooper

A fundraiser is planned next month for Lance Ramsay, the Washington State Patrol motorcycle trooper who was seriously injured in a June 21 wreck on Highway 9.

The fundraiser is sponsored by Sound Harley-Davidson of Smokey Point and NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne.

Ramsay, 41, suffered broken ribs, as well as injuries to his back and face, in the wreck near Clearview. His recovery is expected to take months. He’s been a trooper for about 20 years.

The “Ramsay Recovery Ride” is planned for 11 a.m. Aug. 14 at Sound Harley-Davidson near Marysville.

I’m planning to write a story about the fundraiser when it gets a little closer.
