Prep baseball: Everett 6, Cascade 5

EVERETT — Everett’s Lucas Sontra hit a grand slam in the first inning which put Everett (1-0 overall) up 4-0 right off the bat and it never trailed. Cascade (0-1) fought back with Ryan Lukas batting 3-for-3 to lead the way. The Bruins scored three runs in the second inning to cut the Everett lead to one. Each team added a run in the fourth inning. Everett was able to score the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the sixth after Cascade had tied it in the fifth inning when Lukas came around to score after his second double.
