First-round home dates still not set

The schedule for Everett’s first-round playoff series against Portland still hasn’t been firmed up.

The series, which pits the top-seeded Winterhawks against the eighth-seeded Silvertips, begins with games 1 and 2 next Saturday and Sunday in Portland. The dates of Games 3 and 4 in Everett are still being worked out. The usual playoff schedule would have those taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, with the first games coming on Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday, that would mean a stretch of four games in five nights. The Tips are trying to get Games 3 and 4 pushed back to Wednesday and Thursday to prevent that issue.

Because the dates haven’t been determined, ticket sales for Games 3 and 4 are being pushed back. Those tickets will now go on sale beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
