Snohomish: New firefighter joins ranks

A new full-fledged firefighter will be working in Snohomish pretty soon.

Marcus McGee was recently hired by Snohomish County Fire District 4 in Snohomish. The spot was opened by a recent retirement.

McGee has volunteered with the district since 1992, Fire Chief Mark Collins said. He is a 1991 graduate of Snohomish High School and lives in Lake Stevens with his wife and two daughters.

Everett: HIV tests, information offered

Prevention information and free anonymous or confidential HIV tests will be available today and Thursday at the Snohomish Health District, 3020 Rucker Ave.

The tests are available for women and girls age 14 years and older who are at risk for HIV infection. The rapid HIV antibody test requires only a drop of blood pricked from a finger. Test results are available within 30 minutes.

The tests will be offered from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.

Edmonds: Musical comedy at high school

Edmonds-Woodway High School’s music and drama departments is set to present the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.”

The musical is a tale of greed, corruption, deception, a con game and unpredictable friendships in the south of France.

The production is held at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the theater at Mountlake Terrace High School, 21801 44th Ave. W.

Admission is $8. Tickets are being sold this week during lunch time at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Some tickets will be available at the door.

Bothell: Help plan a new regional trail

Public discussions about a regional trail route west of the Bothell-Everett Highway are scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

Snohomish County is hosting the meetings to chart the future North Creek Regional Trail between Snohomish County’s McCollum Pioneer Park in south Everett and Bothell. The trail would eventually connect the Interurban Trail with the Burke-Gilman and Sammamish River trails.

Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled at Crystal Springs Elementary School, 21615 9th Ave. SE, Bothell. Thursday’s meeting is scheduled at Alderwood Middle School, 20000 28th Ave. W., Lynnwood.

Another meeting is scheduled March 15 at Mill Creek City Council chambers, 15728 Main St, Mill Creek.
