PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Lilly Eason
Setter, Lake Stevens, sr.
Eason recorded 736 assists (9.2 per set), 110 digs, a 94.4 percent serving percentage, 109 kills and a .377 hitting percentage. “It’s hard to find anyone better in terms of work ethic,” said Vikings coach Kyle Hoglund. “She’s a fierce competitor. She’s fun to watch and fun to coach.”
COACH OF THE YEAR
Alex Tarin, Snohomish
Tarin led the Panthers to a 16-6 record, second-place finish in Wesco 3A and an eighth-place finish at the 3A state tournament. “We were hard to play against because we spread the ball around so well,” Tarin said. “We had four hitters with 100-plus kills. The (opponent) didn’t know what player was going to be set at what time. That’s probably one of the reasons we were successful at the end of the year.”
FIRST TEAM
Devon Martinka
Outside hitter, Stanwood, jr.
Martinka tallied 296 kills (4.62 per set), a .325 hitting percentage, 162 digs (2.53 per set) and 34 aces.
Sandra Yang
Outside hitter, Edmonds-Woodway, sr.
Yang averaged 4.18 kills and 1.8 digs per set. “(She’s) one of the strongest volleyball players Edmonds-Woodway has had,” said Warriors coach Nicole Bordeaux. “(She’s) extremely versatile and well rounded.”
Hailee Blau
Opposite hitter, Oak Harbor, sr.
Roz Gillie
Middle blocker, Snohomish, sr.
Gillie registered 270 kills, a .389 hitting percentage, 65 aces and 123 blocks. “She completely changed the way opponents would play against us,” said Panthers coach Alex Tarin. “It is hard nowadays to have a middle hitter be so dominant and demand so much attention with all of the focus being on your outside hitters. (Roz) could change the entire match just by herself with her blocking ability and hitting ability. She was also a good server.”

McQuarrie averaged 2.7 digs and 0.64 aces per set.
SECOND TEAM
Hannah Aaenson
Outside hitter, Lake Stevens, sr.
Aaenson registered 292 kills (3.7 per set), a .223 hitting percentage, a 90.5 percent serving percentage and 157 digs.
Ciarra Choe
Outside hitter, Jackson, sr.
Choe tallied 168 kills (2.43 per set),a .224 hitting percentage, 53 digs and 17 blocks. “Ciarra is a hard-working kid who has fought, putting in extra hours in the offseason these past years to get where she is now,” said Timberwolves coach Mindy Staudinger. “She has become a leader, someone the girls look to on the court. She has been a consistent, reliable part of our team. Her passion is contagious.”
Sidney Goodall
Opposite hitter, Lakewood, sr.
Goodall posted 196 kills (2.3 per set), 303 digs (3.5 per set), 46 aces and 48 blocks. “Sidney had a fantastic season,” Cougars coach Megan Hunter said. “She definitely stepped up in her role as a floor leader and was able to lead the team both in word and in action. Sidney is an extremely smart player, watching for holes on the other side of the court. Her strengths include her serving ability as well as ball placement. If she sees something, she will go for it. She definitely helped keep us together as a team.”
Sydney Petersen
Middle blocker, Glacier Peak, jr.
Petersen tallied 2.5 kills and 0.7 blocks per set.
Tessa Foley
Setter, King’s, sr.
Foley averaged 12 assists per set and had a 91 percent serving percentage during the regular season, then averaged 14 assists per set had a 96 percent serving percentage during the 1A state tournament. “Tessa ran a very effective offense that utilized all hitters,” said Knights coach Jeff Fransen.
Haley Gilbert
Libero, Kamiak, sr.
Gilbert averaged 2.3 digs per set and posted a 95.9 percent serving percentage. “Her teammates refer to her as ‘inspirational,’ ” Knights coach Greg Post said.
