Golf tournament raises over $80K to help cancer patients

The Everett Golf and Country Club Cancer Tournament was held June 2 and broke records by raising more than $80,000 for Providence General Foundation.

Proceeds from the event help support patients undergoing cancer treatment at Providence Regional Cancer Partnership with basic needs — such as food, shelter, transportation and medication — through the Linda Baltzell Cancer Patient Assistance Fund and Cancer Patient Navigator Program.

Co-chairs of the event were Lynne Hall and Joanie Thompson. Several local car dealerships were event sponsors. Since its start 41 years ago, the annual golf tournament has raised more than $500,000.
