Planet science for kids

Kids ages 5 and up can explore the science of planets with a variety of hands-on activities, 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Paint with earth pigments, examine rocks and fossils, and use a seismograph.

BAZAARS

Mill Creek: The annual Christmas at North Creek bazaar and boutique will be held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at North Creek Presbyterian Church, 621 164th St. SE. Proceeds benefit St. Petersburg Children’s Hospice. More info: northcreekpres.org.

Duvall: The annual PEO Art and Craft Show will be held 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Duvall Visitor and Centennial Center, 15619 Main St. Local artists and crafters. Proceeds benefit scholarships. More info: 425-424-2583.

Mobile DSHS services coming to Mill Creek

The state Department of Social and Health Services mobile services office will be at the Mill Creek Senior Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 to help with applications, conduct reviews and answer questions.

The Mill Creek Senior Center recently moved; it is now located on the ground floor of Vintage at Mill Creek, a retirement community at 4111 133rd St. SE, located off 132nd Street SE (Highway 96) across from Penny Creek Elementary School.

Groups help those affected by addiction

Cocaine Anonymous: A nonprofit recovery program for those seeking sobriety or support in staying sober from cocaine and other mind-altering substances. Has groups in Arlington, Edmonds, Everett, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Monroe. More info: www.caofwa.org, 425-244-1150.

Drug abuse family support: Support groups for those affected by someone else’s drug addiction meet in Arlington, Bothell, Everett and Snohomish. More info: www.nar-anon.org.
