Prep stars of the night for Tuesday, April 23:

Cameron Smith, Arlington baseball

Smith, a senior, struck out 10 without walking a batter in a two-hit shutout of Oak Harbor that extended the Eagles’ perfect season in a 1-0 win. With runners on second and third in the fourth inning and one out in a scoreless game, Smith induced a strikeout and a pop-up to strand the runners.

Andrew Haight, Monroe baseball

Haight, a junior, went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple an RBI and scored a run in the Bearcats’ 5-1 win over Jackson.

Brock Gillis, Cascade baseball

Gillis, a junior, threw a four-hit shutout in the Bruins’ 4-0 win over Mount Vernon. He struck out seven and walked two in the game.

Narissa McDuffie, Shorecrest softball

McDuffie, a junior, went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Scots’ 7-4 win over Archbishop Murphy.

Jake Williams, Jackson boys soccer

Williams, a senior midfielder, scored one of the Timberwolves’ goals and assisted on the other two in a 3-0 shutout of Mount Vernon.

Leah Robison, Kamiak girls tennis

Robison rebounded from a first-set tiebreaker defeat to rally and beat Jackson’s Mina Jamshidpour in three sets for the Knights’ lone victory in a 6-1 loss to the Timberwolves. Robison won the second set 7-5, and claimed the third-set super-tiebreaker 10-6.

Hanna Jones, Everett softball

Jones, a freshman, will undoubtedly remember her first varsity home run for a long time. Jones hit a pinch-hit, walk-off, two-run bomb in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Seagulls an 8-6 win over Arlington. Everett led 6-2 after six innings, but allowed four runs in the top of the seventh to prompt Jones’ heroics.

Riley Mae Swanson, Lakewood softball

Swanson, a sophomore, threw her fourth no-hitter of the season and struck out 12 Sehome batters in the Cougars’ 3-0 win.
