Woman hurt, three cats dead after Lynnwood house fire

LYNNWOOD — A woman was hurt and three cats died after a house fire Monday morning.
Smoke from the home was reportedly visible from two blocks away in the 20700 block of 60th Avenue West just before 7 a.m., according to the South Snohomish County Fire district. Within a half hour of fighting the flames, the fire was under control.
The woman was taken to Swedish Edmonds Hospital for smoke exposure.
Firefighters tended to one cat with oxygen, which was later taken to an emergency veterinarian. The cat’s condition was improving, according to South County Fire. Later, another cat that escaped the house was found in the back yard.
The house was uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
