MUKILTEO — Marcell McQueen (9) and Trevor Gray (8) combined to score 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Kamiak boys basketball team outscored Snohomish 25-13 in the final period to earn a 64-59 comeback victory in Wesco 4A action Tuesday night.

The Knights knocked down 10-of-11 free throws in the period as they erased a nine-point deficit and improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. The Panthers shot 7-for-11 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter after shooting 6-for-7 in the first half.

“Our guys just were poised,” Kamiak head coach Cory West said. “Our guys just kept fighting and chipping away, and the biggest thing was we knocked down free throws.”

Gray finished with 12 points and Gavin Patrick added 10 to lead the Knights.

Collin Kane finished with a game-high 29 points for the Panthers in the loss.

“He’s a load,” West said. “He has a soft touch and was scoring well inside. I thought our bigs did a good job on him though. He had to work for all 29.”

The Panthers knocked down four three pointers in the first half but failed to connect from downtown in the second half.
