Hoover’s home run lifts AquaSox over Canadians

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Connor Hoover’s three-run home run in the seventh inning turned a one-run deficit into a two-run lead and the Everett AquaSox held on for a 5-3 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Wednesday.

Hoover also tripled and drove in four runs to lead the Everett offense. Patrick Frick and Trent Tingelstad chipped in two hits apiece.

Kelvin Nunez started and struck out six over five innings for the AquaSox. He allowed three runs on five hits. Matt Martin pitched the final four innings and allowed only one hit to earn the win.

Everett (20-20, 2-0 second half) wraps up the three-game series with Vancouver with a rare weekday day game on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
