YMCA health fair
All are invited to the Healthy Living Fair from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 13, at the at the Mill Creek Family YMCA, 13723 Puget Park Drive.
Eat food from local restaurants, and learn about legal services, grocery deliveries, health care and the arts from more than 40 Snohomish County vendors. CVS Pharmacy will be providing flu shots with proof of insurance.

Younger-onset Alzheimer’s
Those who care for someone with younger-onset memory loss are invited to a support group hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., every second Friday of the month, starting Sept. 13. Meetings are at New Life Church, 6830 Highland Drive, Everett.
The groups are a way for caregivers to learn about younger-onset Alzheimer’s, which affects those 65 or younger, and to gain support from people going through similar experiences.

Bike repair classes
The nonprofit Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop plans to host its Roadside Repairs Class on three upcoming Wednesday evenings: Sept. 18, Oct. 9 and Nov. 13.
Each one-night class is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. It costs $25. Space is limited to six spots per class.
The shop promises the lessons will make you a better volunteer, safer rider and a happier person. Upon completion students should be able to fix a flat tire and make minor adjustments to their own bike using proper tools. Bring your own bike or use one from Sharing Wheels.
Work parties to provide used bicycles for the Christmas House charity run Thursdays at Sharing Wheels, from 6 to 9 p.m., Sept. 12 through Dec. 12.

School scholarship help
High school students interested in applying for scholarships and grants are welcome to attend an Oct. 12 training session put on by the Sno-Isle School Retirees.
It’s planned for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. Retired teachers will share what they look for when they judge applications and offer tips on what makes an outstanding application, as well as pitfalls to avoid. Other topics include asking for references and how to guide that reference to write appropriate information. The workshop can help plan for a vocational or trade school, or college. Registration is not necessary.

Practice English
The Sno-Isle Mariner Library is hosting weekly classes in September for those learning English as a second language. Attendees can practice the language with volunteers in a friendly and supportive setting. This free class is geared toward adults.
Classes are from 6 to 7 p.m. each Thursday in September, starting this week at the library, 520 128th St. SW, Everett.
