Sheriff has a poor record after only six months

Sheriff Adam Fortney is an absolute embarrassment to our county and a danger to society. He has the bullocks to speak on George Floyd, who was murdered by an officer who kneeled on his neck for exactly 8 minutes and 46 seconds. In an answer to a question in a recent Herald article, Fortney speculates that it took 6 to 9 minutes for Floyd to die, as if he doesn’t have time for details. Three seconds is a life time and George Floyd was not a threat to anyone regardless of whether he was handcuffed or not.

Sheriff Fortney reinstated two deputies who recklessly fired into a truck killing a man who was stuck in a ditch with an innocent woman in the vehicle. He reinstated two other deputies whose sworn testimony in any possible investigation is labeled suspect prior to a trial. And he says he’s focusing on listening.

Who are you listening to sheriff? White racist pretend soldiers who you let take over Snohomish? Waiving Confederate flags in the middle of racial turmoil caused by yet another cop killing a black man over an alleged counterfeit $20 dollar bill?

This is sheriff Fortney’s legacy, and it’s only been six months. Nothing is more important right now than the defeat of systematic racism and police corruption. It is abundantly clear that Sheriff Fortney’s abhorrent behavior in the six months that he’s been in office is more than enough reason to impeach him and make it clear that Snohomish County. Thank you to all officers of the law who practice there profession justly. I know you’re there and I pray for you.
