Republicans voting for acquittal need a new pledge

This is a letter to all the senators who voted to acquit Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial. It is now clear that you have completely surrendered to the cult of Trump. You can finally stop pretending that you are patriotic Americans. It is time for you to retire the Stars and Stripes, proudly raise your Trump flag, and with your fist in the air recite your new pledge:

I pledge allegiance to Donald J. Trump

Not the United States of America.

And to the demagoguery for which he stands.

One man, unchecked,

Over my country.

Without a democracy for all.
