WSU Everett is requiring students and staff to be vaccinated

EVERETT — Washington State University will require proof of COVID-19 vaccinations this fall for all students and employees engaged in activities at a WSU campus or location, including Everett.

The directive announced Wednesday also applies to students enrolled in programs offered through the WSU-run Everett University Center.

Exemptions will be allowed for medical, religious or personal reasons. Students and employees will have to demonstrate full vaccination or provide proof of a valid exemption. They also may be required to participate in regular COVID-19 testing or other public health measures, such as regular attestations when coming to campus.

Those enrolled in fully online or remote programs are exempt.

Students are expected to be vaccinated by Aug. 23, the first day of the fall semester. Beginning Nov. 1, they will be required to show proof of vaccination or an approved exemption. Those who don’t will be unable to register for spring semester courses, according to a WSU news release.
