Grand slam in big inning lifts Indians over AquaSox

EVERETT — The Spokane Indians scored seven runs in the fifth inning and cruised to an 11-4 win over the Everett AquaSox on Thursday evening at Funko Field.

The big blow in the decisive inning was a grand slam off the bat of Kyle Datres that pushed the Indians’ lead to 9-1.

Joseph Rosa homered, and Noelvi Marte, Kennie Taylor and Justin Lavey each had to hits for the AquaSox.

Marte finished 2-for-5 with a double and is now hitting .290 in his short stint with Everett (61-55).

Datres, Hunter Stovall and Jack Blomgren each had two hits for Spokane (66-49).

The AquaSox have three games remaining in the season, including a 1:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday.
