Motorcyclist who died in Everett bridge crash identified

EVERETT — A motorcyclist who died early Monday morning after colliding with a car on the Snohomish River Bridge and being propelled into the water was identified Wednesday.

On his motorcycle, Isaiah Funden, 24, collided with a car before 1:30 a.m. that day while northbound on Highway 529 at the bridge, according to a news release from Everett police. Funden, of Marysville, was ejected over the bridge’s guardrail and into the river.

Police and Everett firefighters found Funden in the river, police said. He was taken aboard a marine patrol vessel. Firefighters performed CPR and he was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. He died there.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office classified Funden’s cause of death as blunt force injuries and drowning.

No one in the other vehicle, a Nissan Xterra, reported injuries, according to police.
