Ban net-pen fish farms in federal waters, too

As we go into 2023, we all want to start the new year with new resolutions and better habits, whether that means starting to work out more, eat healthier or live more sustainably. An easy but important resolution to keep to help out yourself and your community is to keep fish from offshore finfish farms out of our diets. These farms are keeping thousands upon thousands of fish caged in the oceans, producing and releasing massive amounts of pollution and waste into our ocean ecosystems, as well as harming the livelihoods of local Seattle fishers.

We have already banned these harmful farms in state waters in Washington, and are looking to ban them at a federal level, and eventually but hopefully, for good.

To start the new year off right, let’s support our local communities and let finfish farms be a thing of the past.
