DARRINGTON — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday evening on Highway 530, when he crashed into a car that failed to yield, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Around 8 p.m., two people in a Chevrolet Equinox were driving west near Tom Creek Road, about 5 miles west of Darrington.

The driver tried to make a left turn, troopers said. Jeremy Doyle, of the Darrington area, was riding east on a Kawasaki motorcycle, trying to turn into a driveway.

The Chevrolet Equinox driver, a 33-year-old Wisconsin man, did not yield the right of way, according to the state patrol. Doyle crashed into the side of the car and died at the scene. He was 46.

Troopers did not arrest the Chevy driver at the scene. It was unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved.
