Everett Chamber will bring growth; is that what we want?

Published 1:30 am Wednesday, January 29, 2025

As The Herald reported, the Everett Chamber of Commerce might be good for business, bringing more people to this part of the country, but that’s not good for those already here (“After 13 years, Everett welcomes back its chamber of commerce,” The Herald, Jan.16).

More people means more infrastructure and that means of course, more taxes, more traffic, more crime, less access to our coveted natural resources, parks, trails, etc., etc,, etc. Tell me of a larger city in America where you’d rather live and I’ll show you exactly what I’m talking about.

Of course this and every other newspaper wants more customers as well so we’ll probably be lucky to see this letter printed but in all fairness all sides of the growth issue should be reported, don’t you think?
