Solar for All program is very beneficial and should be kept

The recent Herald article about the $156 million grant for Solar for All in the state, now paused by the Trump administration prompts me to respond.

I was fortunate enough to have installed a solar system that ties into the PUD on my home in Everett in 2018. The initial cost was $26,000 and is now paid off due to incentives and selling excess power I generate back to PUD. My annual costs for power have been around $250 a year ever since. My energy bill is less than $20 a month which includes electric heat, cooling, cooking and electric vehicle recharge.

How is pausing or cutting a program that would help less affluent people, 900,000 of them nationwide and in our state, reduce their energy bills is completely wise, sensible and beautiful? To jeopardize such a gift requires a wiser, more sensible and beautiful explanation, so it surely should not be a political one.
