Kittens abandoned under Highway 2, witnesses sought

EVERETT — Four newborn kittens were found abandoned in a garbage bag under the westbound side of the U.S. 2 trestle on Friday.

Around 11:20 a.m., Snohomish County animal control officers responded to a 911 call about abandoned kittens near 51st Avenue Southeast and Home Acres Road. Only one kitten survived and was taken to Everett Animal Shelter for treatment. Additional details about the kittens were not disclosed.
