EVERETT — The Northshore School District Board of Directors is seeking applicants for a vacant school board position, the district announced in a press release Wednesday.
On June 22, school board member Kimberlee Kelly announced her resignation, saying her family is moving outside of the District 5 boundary. Kelly was elected to the school board in November 2025.
“Like many families in our region, we have been navigating housing affordability challenges,” Kelly wrote in her statement. “My family is relocating within the Northshore School District but outside the boundaries of District 5. Although this change means I can no longer serve on the Board, I am grateful that we will remain part of the Northshore community.”
District 5 represents Woodinville and portions of Redmond and unincorporated King County. A district map is available on the school district website. Applicants must live within the District 5 boundary to apply.
Applications are open through 4:30 p.m. on July 31. The board will conduct public interviews of the finalists the week of Aug. 15, with the new board member anticipated to begin their term Sept. 14. The board member will serve until the next regularly scheduled school board election in November 2027.
The application is available on the Northshore School District website.
