EVERETT — Edmonds College students who meet certain criteria will now receive guaranteed admission into Western Washington University, the institutions announced Thursday in a press release.
Edmonds College students who finish a transfer associate degree with at least a 2.5 GPA will be eligible for guaranteed entry and a waived application fee for the Bellingham-based university, the release said. Students will also be immediately eligible for transfer scholarship opportunities.
High school students can also take advantage of the agreement through Edmonds College’s Running Start program, which offers free college credits for high school juniors and seniors. Students who complete a transfer associate degree during high school can enter Western Washington University after graduation with junior standing.
“We are very excited about our ability to work with Western Washington University and provide a smooth transfer pathway for students,” said Kim Chapman, vice president of instruction for Edmonds College, in the release. “Western is a strong partner for Edmonds College, and we are pleased to formalize this agreement for our students.”
In October 2025, Western Washington University announced a similar partnership with Everett Community College for guaranteed admission. The university now offers guaranteed transfer admission to students from 14 community colleges across Washington.
