Cupcake business: From pink slip to pink box

The Seattle University student newspaper has a great feature this week on Cupcake Royale, one of the Puget Sound’s most iconic small businesses.
The story profiles Cupcake Royale and Vérité Coffee owner Jody Hall, a SU graduate. Hall was laid off from REI in 2002; that’s when she started her own business.
“I got a pink slip and a huge severance,” Hall told the Spectator. “I took a pink slip and turned it into a pink box.”
