Beer, wine, spirits: Where to grab a drink in Snohomish County

Science of Spirits: Seattle’s Pacific Science Center is hosting Science of Spirits, a night of science served with sips of samples from local distilleries, including Edmonds’ Scratch Distillery and Lynnwood Temple Distilling, from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 19 at PSC, 200 Second Ave. N, Seattle. Tickets can be purchased at www.pacificsciencecenter.org.

Foggy Noggin’s Fresh Hop Festival: Bothell’s Foggy Noggin Brewing is hosting its own Fresh Hop Festival Oct. 19 and 20 at the brewery, 22329 53rd Ave. SE, Bothell. Foggy Noggins will be serving three fresh hop beers, including one made with hops grown on the brewery’s property.

Sierra Nevada vertical Narwhal tasting: Stanwood’s Ale Spike Taproom is hosting Sierra Nevada Brewing for a vertical tasting of its Narwhal stout at 1 p.m. Oct. 20.

Anderson School Pumpkin Party: McMenamins Anderson School is hosting a pumpkin carving party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the school’s Haynes Hall, 18607 Bothell Way NE, Bothell. Free. Pumpkins and carving kits will be for sale at the door. There will also be Halloween-themed movies, music, barbecue and, of course, beer.

Skookum Charity Cribbage Tournament: Arlington’s Skookum Brewery is hosting its annual Charity Cribbage Tournament from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the brewery, 17925 59th Ave. NE, Arlington. There will be a $10 suggested donation to play, with donations benefiting the National MS Society.

Pelican Brewing tasting: Lynnwood’s Special Brews is hosting Oregon’s Pelican Brewing for a tasting at 5 p.m. Oct. 24 at the taproom, 14608 Highway 99, Suite 307, Lynnwood.

Mazama Brewing tasting: Everett’s Toggle’s Bottleshop is hosting Oregon’s Mazama Brewing for a beer tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 at the taproom, 1420 Hewitt Ave., Everett.

Icicle Brewing tasting: Mountlake Terrace’s Diamond Knot Brewing is hosting Leavenworth’s Icicle Brewing for a beer tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at the brewpub, 5602 232nd St. SW, Suite 106, Mountlake Terrace.

Rogue Brewery Night at Josh’s: Snohomish’s Josh’s Taps and Caps is hosting Oregon’s Rogue Ales for a beer tasting at 9 p.m. Oct. 25 at the taproom, 1800 Bickford Ave., Suite 210, Snohomish.

Historical Scottish Ales at Foggy Noggin: Bothell’s Foggy Noggin Brewing is hosting British beer historian Ron Pattinson for a historical Scottish ales beer tasting at 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at the brewery, 22329 53rd Ave. SE, Bothell. Tickets are $35 and are limited.

Snohomish Brewfest: The annual Snohomish Brewfest is returning Nov. 2 and 3 at Thomas Family Farms, 9010 Marsh Road, Snohomish. More than 30 breweries and cideries will pour drinks. Sessions are 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 2 and noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 3. Advance tickets are $30 or $35 at the door.

Naked City celebrates a decade: Seattle brewery Naked City is celebrating its 10th anniversary with parties at both its Greenwood and Camano Island locations. The Camano Island celebration is Nov. 3 at 848 N. Sunrise Blvd., and includes beer flights of the brewery’s 10-for-10 collaboration beers and food specials.

Beer and Cupcake Pairing at Crucible: Everett’s Crucible Brewing is hosting Grain Artisan Bakery for a Beer and Cupcake Pairing from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 at the brewery, 909 SE Everett Mall Way, Suite D440, Everett. Advance tickets are $15 and include four 5-ounce beer tasters and mini cupcakes.

Hops on the Rock: The second annual Hops on the Rock island beer festival is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Eastsound on Orcas Island. There will be more than 20 local breweries from around the Sound, including Whitewall Brewing, Lazy Boy Brewing and Sumerian Brewing. General admission tickets are $25 and a food-pairing ticket is $40.
