See a play: Village Theatre’s production of “Sleuth” opens Friday. It runs Wednesdays through Sundays until March 27. See what our arts reporter Theresa Goffredo had to say about it here.

Save money on kids’ stuff: Just Between Friends of Everett is hosting a consignment sale at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. It runs from Friday to Sunday. You can find more information about it by clicking here. You can also print a ticket to get in free.

Buy trees and other plants: The Snohomish Conservation District’s annual plant sale is Friday and Saturday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. Credit cards are not accepted at the event.

Taste Penn Cove mussels: The Penn Cove Mussel Festival is Saturday and Sunday. While mussels are the star, you can still enjoy the fun even if you’re not a fan of bivalves. There are also activities for kids. Our story about it is here.

Drink some beer: The Base Camp Winter Ale Fest is Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. You can sample 20 local beers, hear live music and enjoy local brats from Silvana Meats and oysters from Taylor Shellfish. The event is $10 cheaper if you buys tickets in advance, which you can do on their website.

See cool reptiles: The Emerald City Reptile Expo is Saturday and Sunday in Seattle. You can even see a live alligator. The event is $10, kids under 12 get in free.

Listen to jazz: The Demiero Jazz Fest runs through Saturday in Edmonds. You can buy tickets and see who’s playing, and when, at the website.
