Two for the price of one today. Whatta deal, and it’s thanks to Snohomish reader Barbara Rossnagle. She’s leaving us, and we cannot send her off without the following "taste from here" super and special eats. We just can’t.

"I have tried several recipes for tortilla soup over the last few years," she tells us, "but I have yet to come close to the one that tastes as wonderful as the soup made and served at Everett’s own The Sisters Restaurant. I am hoping they will be willing to share this recipe along with the tasty creamy dill salad dressing I always order.

"I will be moving out of the area in the very near future, and would cherish these recipes for years to come … "

Two for the price of one today. Whatta deal, and it’s thanks to Kathleen Quall and Victoria Quall of the Sisters Restaurant. The recipes they shared with the Forum column on March 23, 1988, and again Feb. 7, 1996, here again appear:

The Sisters Restaurant creamy dill dressing

In medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, onion, parsley, Beau Monde seasoning and dill weed; mix thoroughly and thin to desired consistency with milk. Cover and refrigerate (overnight, if possible) to allow flavors to blend. Makes about 1 1/3 cups.

The best time to dig for razor clams is about two hours before or after low tide. On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Mocrocks Beach in Moclips, Washington, had a -0.3 tide at 10:12 a.m. By 9 a.m. the beach swarmed with clammers thumping their digging tubes against the sand to stir the razor clams into showing where they were hiding.
