Take your tomatoes to Oregon’s Great Tomato Taste-Off

Bragging rights: If you’ve grown some fantastic tomatoes this year and you feel like a road trip, consider entering the Great Northwest Tomato Taste-Off on Saturday in Cottage Grove, Ore.

The annual event draws the best tomato growers to compete for cash and the title of Tastiest Tomato Grower.

The winner takes home $500. Second and third place winners receive $250 and $100, respectively.

Territorial Seed Co. puts on the contest. It’s part of the Gathering of Gardeners Festival at the Village Green Resort in Cottage Grove.

Entry to the Taste-Off is free and limited to the first 100 entries. Register in advance by calling 541-942-9547.
