“Teacakes & Tarot”: The Island Shakespeare Festival presents “Teacakes & Tarot” 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 with Will Wilhelm and Sara Bruner via Zoom. Wilhelm and Bruner will lead a bite-sized interactive virtual session that investigates the intersections of Tarot, gender and Shakespeare’s canon. Featured in the Dec. 10 show is Bill Rauch. “A Miracle on 34th Street”: The Red Curtain Theatre production will be live-streamed via Zoom at 7 p.m. Dec. 11-12 and Dec. 18-19. In this modern retelling of “A Miracle on 34th Street,” theater friends get together online to read their favorite holiday story during the 2020 pandemic. Jessie’s father has been hospitalized, and she has asked her friends to help tell the story to her 10-year-old daughter to help cheer her up. Actors perform their roles remotely in the readers-theater style. Tickets are $15 or $40 per family. You will recieve a Zoom link for the show with registration. Phoenix Theatre’s 2020-2021 season includes “The Miser,” “Inspecting Carol,” “37 Postcards,” “Mama Won’t Fly” and “Skin Flick.” Season tickets for all five performances are $110 for adults and $98 for seniors, students and military.

DANCE
Emerald Ballet Theatre: It wouldn’t be the holidays without a performance of “The Nutcracker.” Enjoy Emerald Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker” in the comfort of you own home. The Northshore Performing Arts Foundation in Bothell presents the 2019 recording by Final Take Productions. The ballet based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” is available Dec. 11-13 via www.emeraldballet.org. The show — which kicks off 7 p.m. Dec. 11 — is free, but donations are appreciated. Whidbey Island Dance Theatre: The dance company’s filmed production of “The Nutcracker” is screening at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Blue Fox Drive-In Theater, 1403 N. Monroe Landing Road, Oak Harbor. Tickets $40 per carload in advance if purchased online; or $15 for adults, $10 for students and $50 per carload at the box office. Can’t take the ferry to the Blue Fox Drive-In in Oak Harbor? Stream the film from the comfort of your own home Dec. 11 through Jan. 5. Cost is $15 to rent or $20 to buy. The video can be viewed for up to 72 hours after rental purchase. “Stream of Consciousness:” Improv legends and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” veterans Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood will deliver their indelible humor in a live-stream improv show via Zoom. Everett Comedy Night: Everett comedian Cory Michaelis hosts a second-Sunday monthly comedy night. The headliner for the virtual Dec. 13 show is Drew Barth. Tickets are $10-$15. All ages. “HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis”: Improvisational comedian Colin Mochrie and hypnotist Asad Mecci will perform 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Avenue N., Edmonds. Volunteers from the audience will be put under hypnosis by Mecci, their inhibitions evaporated and their minds no longer their own. Then, Mochrie, a “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” star, takes the stage with the volunteers to perform an improv show like no other. Tickets are $24-$59. More at www.edmondscenterforthearts.org.
