Winnie the Pooh is Washington’s favorite Disney character

1. Disney love.

What’s your favorite Disney movie?

If you answered “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh,” you’re not alone.

The 1977 animated classic is Washington’s favorite Disney film, according to CableTV.com, which is celebrating the recent release of the new pooh movie “Christopher Robin.”

It’s not a surprise Washington prefers a film with an animal protagonist — 38 other states did the same.

“The Lion King,” released in 1994, is America’s favorite Disney classic with the support of 17 states.

Utah had a 14-way tie for its top Disney movie — the only state without a clear-cut winner.

2. Open call.

It’s time flex your vocal cords, Snohomish County.

ABC’s “American Idol” is holding open-call auditions Aug. 31 for its 2019 season. Participants must be between 15 and 28 years old and a legal U.S. resident.

Sing a song of your choice either a capella or with your own instrument, such as a guitar.

Line up early at Meydenbauer Center, 1110th NE Sixth St., Bellevue, to help ensure a chance to audition. There are no guarantees if time is running short. If you can’t make it in person, submit a tape online.

The new season begins in January.

3.Smoke safety.

It may sound crazy, but it’s healthier to stay indoors this summer. Hundreds of wildfires in Washington, British Columbia and Oregon have led to smoky air in the Puget Sound region.

Wildfire smoke carries the same health risks as wood smoke, except there’s much more of it. Breathing smoke can be especially dangerous for sensitive groups — children and older adults and people who are pregnant, have heart or lung issues (such as asthma and COPD), or who have had a stroke.

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency recommends limiting time spent outdoors, avoiding strenuous activities outdoors and doing light indoor activities. More at www.pscleanair.org.
