Adam Loosley remembers going to see Pixar’s ground-breaking film “Toy Story” with his mom and dad as a teenager in Canada.

Today, 16 years later, he is part of the crew that brings the famous tale to life in Disney on Ice’s “Toy Story 3.”

Loosley, 26, plays Woody, the lanky cowboy with the red bandana and hat.

“If you loved the movie, you’re going to love the ice show,” Loosley said.

The first half of the show reveals the plot of “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2.” After the intermission, the emotional story of “Toy Story 3” is played out, including the tear-jerking goodbyes.

“It’s emotional,” the skater said. “It’s a good story.”

Loosley grew up in a ice-skating family about three hours south of Toronto. He competed in figure skating as a teen, but was drawn to the dramatic storytelling of the Disney on Ice productions, he said.

His first starring role was playing Woody. That was eight years ago. After touring the world, he’s now back in the red cowboy hat.

“It was the drama and the telling of a story that I really enjoyed,” he said.

The show is full of action and athletic skating. It’s fun for grown-ups and kids even if they haven’t seen the animated films, he said.

Plus, a few well-known characters make some special appearances.

“It’s always for everyone to see your favorite Toy Story characters and your favorite Disney character,” Loosley said.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy all are part of the show.

Dinsney on Ice’s “Toy Story 3” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4; 11:30 a.m., 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5; and 1 and 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at Comcast Arena Everett, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.

Tickets are $16, $18, $25, $40 for VIP and $65 for rinkside. Opening night tickets are half off, except VIP. Buy tickets at 866-332-8499, comcastarenaeverett.com or disneyonice.com.
