LAKE STEVENS — One man died and another was booked into jail after a fatal head-on crash Friday morning involving a truck and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene east of Lake Stevens.
The collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. on the 2900 block of Newberg Road.
Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit believe a 44-year-old man driving a truck was headed southbound when he passed another vehicle and collided with the motorcycle, which was northbound.
The man on the motorcycle, who was in his 30s, died at the scene, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Identification of the man who died, as well as the cause and manner of death, are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
