EVERETT — An all-terrain crane toppled into a section of the Everett Mall under construction Thursday morning, injuring two construction workers and causing unknown damage to the building.
A social media post from Everett Fire said one construction worker was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident. Another worker was treated and released on the scene.
Workers were operating the crane at the time of the crash, Everett Fire spokesperson Rachael Doniger said, but the cause of the crash is unknown. The Washington Department of Labor and Industries is investigating the incident.
The crane was located at the rear of the mall near the Floor and Decor store.
A second crane was brought in to remove the first crane, the post said. A building engineer was on site at 1402 Everett Mall Way, assessing the damage.
