EVERETT — Police arrested four suspects, including one minor, in connection with a downtown Everett garage rampage that left 11 cars severely damaged earlier this month, Everett police said Friday.
Around 5 a.m. May 9, officers responded to the rooftop of the Everpark Garage at 2815 Hoyt Ave. to find 11 cars “prowled and damaged” with windows smashed in, Everett officer Ora Hamel said. Police later discovered a metal garage door had been damaged to allow the suspects inside.
Estimated damage to the vehicles exceeded $5,000. Police have not confirmed what items, if any, were stolen from the cars.
A witness reported seeing four people breaking into the garage, then driving away in a vehicle, Hamel said. Police stopped a vehicle with four people in it that matched the description provided by the witness. Witnesses confirmed the people in the car were the same ones who vandalized the garage.
Police detained and released the four suspects later that day, “pending additional investigation.”
This week, three adults were arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree malicious mischief, first-degree burglary and 11 counts of second-degree vehicle prowling, Hamel said.
The juvenile suspect was released to his parents, but will face charges.
