Boy, 12, shot in apparent accident on Casino Road

EVERETT — A 12-year-old boy shot himself on Tuesday in an apparent accident on W. Casino Road.

He is expected to survive, according to Everett police.

The incident was reported about 5:15 p.m. at the Fireside West Apartments. The boy was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle because of the nature of his injuries, officer Aaron Snell said.

The boy was listed in serious condition in intensive care Wednesday morning.

An investigation into what happened, including the ownership of the firearm, was ongoing Wednesday.
