EVERETT — The city of Everett is distributing a survey to gauge public opinion on the possibility of creating City Council districts.
The council has been considering a ballot measure for the November election. That’s in addition to a separate petition on the subject by the group Everett Districts Now.
Survey answers are sought by May 31 and may influence the council’s decision. The questions are available in English and Spanish at www.everettwa.gov/districting. For translation information, contact wmcclure@everettwa.gov.
Everett Districts Now also has a website and Facebook page for its effort.
The council has seven seats. Currently, all of them are drawn from at-large elections. A ballot measure could seek to have some of the seats elected directly from geographic districts.
