Mariner High School collects food and toys for food bank

Mariner High School plays host to a food and toy drive for the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank at its Christmas Winter Rhapsody from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at 200 120th St. SW, Everett.

Volunteers from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Fire District No. 1 plan to be on hand to collect donations of nonperishable food and new toys. The Puget Sound Blood Center mobile van is also scheduled to be on site from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m.

Everett schools host food, clothing drives

Many schools are hosting food and clothing drives. Here are a few going on now at schools in the Everett School District:

Cascade High School hosts its 47th annual food and gift drive Monday to Dec. 16. Students are collecting food and gifts and plan to deliver the items to families Dec. 17. Food items and gifts for children can be dropped off at the front office. For more information, call 425-385-6000.

Students at Henry M. Jackson High School plan to collect food through Dec. 17 at Mill Creek grocery stores including QFC, Albertsons, Central Market and Safeway. The food drive will benefit The Salvation Army. For more information, call 425-385-7000.

Gateway Middle School plans a toy and clothing drive Dec. 8 to Dec. 19. Students plan to collect toys for the Starlight Starbright Foundation. Food items and new or gently used clothing can be dropped off at the office. For more information, call 425-385-6600.

Madison Elementary School hosts a food drive for the Volunteers of America food bank from Tuesday to Dec. 19. Those who wish to help can drop off food at the front office. For more information, call 425-385-5900.

Meadowdale High School conducts canned food drive

Meadowdale High School hosts a food drive from Thursday to Dec. 16, led by student leaders of its Associated Student Body for the Concern for Neighbors Food Bank in Lynnwood. The ASB leaders also plan to collect cans of food from 3 p.m. Dec. 4 to 3 p.m. Dec. 5 at QFC, 7500 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. For more information, call 425-431-7650.

Lake Stevens therapy offices hold sock drive

Abundant Life Bowen Therapy and Restoration Physical Therapy in Lake Stevens host a sock drive from Thursday to Dec. 15 to benefit The Lake Stevens Family Center. Donations of new socks can be dropped off at 612 91st Ave. NE, Suite 1, Lake Stevens. For more information, call 425-870-6609.

Catholic students host food, clothing drives

Students at Immaculate Conception-Our Lady of Perpetual Help School seek donations for food and clothing drives for various charities. For more information, call 425-349-7777.

Monroe Food Bank seeks help for seniors

The Sky Valley Food Bank in Monroe seeks donations of personal care and toiletry items for seniors as part of the Monroe Community Caring Drive through Dec. 4.

Items can be dropped off at the Monroe post office, City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, Boys &Girls Club, East County Senior Center, Valley General Hospital, Monroe High School, Main Street Books, Monroe Fire Department and Monroe YMCA.

Volunteers are also needed.
