SNOHOMISH — A woman sustained serious injuries after a man crashed into her car head-on Monday morning on U.S. 2.
He was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of drugs. She was taken by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, said trooper Heather Axtman of the Washington State Patrol.
He was driving west and drifted over the center line, into eastbound lanes. He hit a pick-up truck and unhinged a utility trailer it was carrying, which rolled off the roadway, Axtman said.
He continued driving the wrong way, and hit the woman’s car. A fourth vehicle was hit with debris, Axtman said. No one else was injured.
Both lanes of U.S. 2, just east of Highway 9, were closed from about 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
