EDMONDS — Detectives are still asking for help finding an Edmonds-area teen who went missing one year ago.
Tyler Christensen, 17, left his home near Picnic Point on April 19, 2016. He was last seen walking near Beverly Park Road on his way to a youth group meeting. He never arrived at the church.
Detectives believe he left his home on his own volition, and took the ferry from Edmonds to Kingston later that night.
His backpack was found last May by High Steel Bridge near Shelton in Mason County.
The teen has no history of running away.
Christensen is a middle child with four sisters. He was home-schooled.
In his free time, he was known to make furniture and art out of wood and metal. He enjoyed hiking and riding motorcycles.
Information about Christensen and his DNA have been entered into federal databases for missing persons. He is 5-foot-11 and 145 pounds with blue eyes and light brown hair.
“Christensen turns 18 years old next month and detectives would still like to learn of his whereabouts and ensure that he is safe,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Anyone with information about Christensen’s disappearance is asked to call the sheriff’s office anonymous tipline at 425-388-3845.
