EVERETT — A statewide organization named the superintendent of Everett Public Schools as one of the top educational leaders in the state last week.
The Washington Association of School Administrators presented the superintendent, Ian Saltzman, with the Robert J. Handy Most Effective Administrator award on June 23, citing his “visionary and inclusive leadership,” a district release read.
The association presents the award once per year to an outstanding public school administrator, its website reads. Saltzman was the first Snohomish County administrator to win the award since 2017. He is the third from Everett Public Schools to receive it.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this award,” Saltzman wrote in a press release. “It reflects the collective dedication of our outstanding educators, staff, students, families, and community. Together, we remain focused on every student, every day. I proudly share this award with the entire Everett Public Schools team, and I am grateful to serve alongside such wonderful individuals.”
