MILL CREEK — A huge food fight at Henry M. Jackson High School today has led to 15 or 16 emergency expulsions and could threaten the prom next week, officials aid.
KING 5 TV posted a student’s video of the fight.
The school has suspended the May 23 prom until it can be assured a plan is in place that guarantees student safety, said Mary Waggoner, an Everett School District spokeswoman.
An emergency expulsion can last a day to two weeks while administrators investigate an incident.
Grounds for an emergency expulsion include endangering oneself or others or causing a disruption to the education process.
“With an emergency expulsion, you are able to get them out of the mix while you conduct an investigation,” Waggoner said
