Repairs are under way to the Baring Bridge over the South Fork Skykomish River.
Expect delays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for about three weeks. The bridge is located on Northeast Index Creek Road near the community of Baring, which is between Index and Skykomish on U.S. 2. Timber and steel on the bridge are deteriorating.
Traffic will be allowed to pass through at the top of each hour, but motorists should expect long delays.
The Baring Bridge was built in 1930 and rebuilt in 1952. It is a timber suspension bridge and is the only access for residents living south of the river.
