EVERETT — It’s a seaport 25 miles north of Seattle and home to aircraft and tech industries like Boeing.
That’s how TV game show “Jeopardy!” prompted its contestant to correctly answer, in its unique question style, “What is Everett?”
The All-America City of 110,000 residents is on the map now after being an answer in the “Geograph’E’” category. It was the $2,000 question that contestant Jill Regan buzzed in first and knew. At the time, it raised her total to $10,000, trailing the leader, Steven “Steve-O” Oppenheimer, at $14,600, and leading fellow contestant Saurabh Kapadia, who had $2,400.
Notoriety from the show got the attention of the city and the Port of Everett, which both posted the clip to social media.
Regan, an auditor from Dedham, Massachusetts, went on to win with a total of $31,601. She supplanted Oppenheimer, who finished in second place. Kapadia ended in third place.
