EVERETT — A man was arrested Friday in connection with the sexual assault of two bikini baristas at separate Everett coffee stands last week, police said.
Everett police arrested the 22-year-old around 1:30 p.m. Friday after he came with his family to the south precinct to turn himself in. This came soon after he confessed to his mother he was the suspect identified in the photos disseminated by the Everett Police Department, according to police documents.
He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation, and two counts of first-degree trespass.
The assaults occurred April 6 and April 9 at coffee stands along Evergreen Way.
In the first case, the man reportedly opened the drive-thru window and climbed inside. The barista told police she kicked him away and believed she would have been further assaulted if she hadn’t, according to police documents.
Three days later, about 2 miles down the road, the man reportedly climbed through a small glass window in the back of the stand. He grabbed one of two women working by the shoulders, the victim screamed for help and the man fled back out through the window.
The suspect’s girlfriend told police he was the man in surveillance photos released, but that he claimed not to remember the incidents due to “blackouts,” a probable cause affidavit said.
On Monday, a judge set his bond at $100,000.
