EVERETT — Police were investigating a shooting at an Everett apartment complex that left a man dead Wednesday morning.
Just before 4:30 a.m., witnesses reported shots fired at the apartment building at 2 West Casino Road, officer Ora Hamel said. The person calling 911 reported a man was on the ground.
Police arrived and found a man in his 20s with multiple gunshot wounds, Hamel said. He died at the scene. The suspect fled the scene before police got there.
Detectives were investigating Wednesday morning. Hamel said the shooting appeared targeted.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased.
This is the city’s 12th homicide of the year, Hamel said. There were four each in 2020 and 2021.
