MILL CREEK — Three adults were displaced after a fire in Mill Creek damaged a home early Tuesday morning.

Just before 4:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a house fire in the 14100 block of 30th Avenue SE. When crews arrived, the fire was mostly within the attic and garage, according to South County Fire.

Firefighters kept the flames contained to the attic and garage, but smoke damaged most of the home, authorities said.

Three people and a dog escaped the house without injuries, according to South County Fire. The Red Cross and Support 7 assisted the displaced residents.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Monday.

“This family did have working smoke alarms,” South County Fire wrote on the social platform X. “Check your smoke alarms today. They could save your life.”
