EDMONDS — Police have arrested a man who is suspected of shooting another man dead on Friday night in Edmonds.
A third man who reportedly drove away with the alleged shooter also was arrested.
The victim, 23, was from SeaTac. He died at the scene.
The shooting happened around midnight outside the Edmonds Senior Center in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue, according to the Edmonds Police Department.
More than 100 people were at a party inside the senior center. A fight broke out during the event, according to a news release.
An Edmonds police officer who was monitoring the area reportedly heard multiple gun shots. Soon after he saw a car leave the parking lot at a high speed, the release says.
The officer chased the car until it stopped on Edmonds way, near 100th Avenue W. The three people inside were detained. One was interviewed and released.
Both men who were arrested are 21 years old and from SeaTac. The alleged driver was arrested on suspicion of eluding a police officer, and the other for investigation of second-degree murder. They were booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
Police have not recovered a gun.
