EVERETT — A nonprofit will take over for Molina Healthcare at an Everett Mall Way medical clinic.
Sea Mar Community Health Centers, which operates in 13 Washington counties, runs health clinics for low-income communities and specializes in services for Latino populations. The nonprofit will take over operations from Molina at the clinic located at 15 SW Everett Mall Way.
It will be the fifth clinic Sea Mar operates in Snohomish County and the second in Everett. The nonprofit also has locations in Lynnwood, Marysville and Monroe.
Molina Healthcare sold the clinic to Sea Mar for a “nominal fee,” Molina announced. The exact terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Before the sale, Molina provided primary care, mental health counseling and coordination for specialty care at the clinic. Sea Mar will offer additional services after taking over, a Molina spokesperson said, including maternity care.
“As a national leader in managed care, Molina partners with highly respected, local provider partners to deliver high-quality care to our members,” said Rhonda Frazier, a Molina spokesperson.
Sea Mar did not respond to requests for comment. It’s unclear when the clinic will open.
